There is something magical about this time of year.  The summer days are getting shorter and hints of Fall can be felt in the early mornings as I drink my coffee on the back deck.  It’s a time for new beginnings, a fresh slate and countless possibilities.

Maybe it’s because I used to teach elementary school and I can’t help feeling the buzz in my belly as September approaches.  Maybe it reminds me of when I was a girl-hopeful for a new year with a different teacher, bigger experiences and hope as my compass.  No matter how many mistakes were made the year before, or how many times my heart broke it was all but forgotten and replaced with a new start.

While I may no longer spend the last weeks of August preparing my classroom for my new students, I am still captivated by the back to school fever.  I still believe this year will be better then the last, new friendships await and hope continues to fill my heart with magical possibilities.
